2 (14-oz) bags slaw mix or shredded cabbage
2 lbs ground beef or sausage
1 can cream of mushroom soup
salt & pepper to taste (none if using sausage)
1 onion chopped
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cans crescent rolls
mustards or mustard sauce
Brown beef or sausage with onion. Drain well. Add slaw mix or cabbage to skillet & steam till wilted. Add soup & mix. Cool.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spread one can crescent rolls to make crust in bottom of Pam-sprayed 9"x13" baking dish, pinching seams closed. Spread evenly with meat mixture. Top with shredded cheese. Place remaining can crescent rolls over top to make the top crust. Brush with beaten egg or egg white. May cut designs in top crust if desired.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cut into squares to serve. Serve with a variety of mustards or mustard sauce on the side.
