Brisket in Beer Gravy


4 lbs. brisket well-trimmed

1 teaspoon Salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 medium onion sliced thin

1/2 cup chili sauce

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 clove garlic minced

12 ounces beer

2 tablespoons flour


Sprinkle brisket with salt & pepper. Place in a greased 9x13? baking pan. Arrange onion over top. Combine chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic & beer, mixing well. Pour over brisket. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1-1 1/2 hours, basting occasionally with pan drippings.
Remove brisket to a serving platter. Pour drippings into a skillet and thicken with flour. Slice brisket across the grain and serve with gravy.
