Broccoli, Bacon & Mandarin Orange Salad


6 cups fresh broccoli florets trimmed to bite size

1/2 lg red onion, chopped

2/3 cup crisp bacon crumbles

2/3 cup glazed walnut pieces

11 ounces mandarin orange sections in juice well-drained, saving juice


1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 cup juice from mandarin oranges

2 T rice vinegar

3 T sugar

1 tsp Aleppo pepper or ½ tsp crushed red pepper


In the bottom of a large salad bowl, combine all dressing ingredients & stir with a whisk until smooth.

Add broccoli, onion, bacon & walnuts to the dressing & toss until all broccoli is "well-dressed."
Add the orange segments, and toss very gently to keep oranges from breaking.
Serve chilled or at room temperature.
