Butterscotch Brownies


1/4 cup margarine melted

1 cup light brown sugar packed

1 egg

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 tablespoon salt

1/2 cup flour

1/2 tablespoon vanilla

1/2 cup chopped nuts


Mix sugar and melted margarine. Beat in egg; add dry ingredients and stir in vanilla & nuts. Spread in greased 8" square pan. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees or until toothpick stuck in middle comes out clean. Do not overbake. Cool in pan and cut in squares.
