Maple Sausage & Waffle Casserole


12 frozen waffles

2 tubes Jimmy Dean Sausage

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 cartons plain egg beaters

2 cups milk

1/2 cup maple flavored syrup

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper


Brown & crumble sausage; drain well on paper towels.
Spray 9"x13" baking dish with Pam. Place half the waffles in a single layer. Top with half the cooked sausage and half the shredded cheese. Repeat layers.
Whisk egg beaters, milk, syrup, salt & pepper until combined. Pour mixture evenly over casserole. Cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least one hour, or overnight.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Let casserole stand at room temperature for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake until edges and center are puffed and knife inserted in center comes out clean, 45-50 minutes. Cool, cut into 12 squares, and serve.
