1/2 cup margarine
2 cups sugar
1 cup mashed bananas
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
ICING:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar
Cream margarine, sugar and mashed bananas. Add eggs & buttermilk and mix. Combine dry ingredients, and add, beating well. Stir in nuts. Bake at 350 degrees in greased & floured 9x13" pan for about 30 minutes.
Boil brown sugar, butter & milk for 3 minutes. Add vanilla & powdered sugar. Beat till smooth and spread on warm cake.
