Pasta with Asparagus


1 lb asparagus cut in 2" lengths

2 tbsps butter

1 cup ham slices extra lean cut in thin slivers

2 cups mushrooms sliced

1 clove garlic minced

1 lb fettucine straw & hay

2 cups half and half

salt & pepper to taste

3/4 cups parmesan cheese freshly grated


Steam or microcook asparagus until just barely tender. Set aside.
Saute onion, garlic, mushrooms & ham in 2 Tbsp butter until onion is wilted.
Cook pasta al dente; drain.
Add drained pasta and asparagus to sauteed mixture & toss over medium heat till well-mixed. Pour half and half over all; season with salt and lots of pepper, & continue to heat & toss.
Serve in pasta bowls topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese.


Serving Ideas: Serve with hard rolls for a complete meal.
