Swedish Glogg


2 whole cardamom pods

2 tbsps stick cinnamon broken

12 1/2 whole cloves

peel of 1 orange

1 qt port

1 qt burgundy

3/4 cups raisins

4 ozs cube sugar

1/2 (fifth) brandy


Remove seeds from cardamom pods; tie with cinnamon, cloves, orange peel in cheesecloth bag.   Add the liquors, raisins, sugar and cheesecloth bag.  Simmer several hours.  Serve warm.
