Teriyaki Beef, Chicken or Shrimp

Barbeque, Beef, Ethnic, Marinades


1/2 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil or peanut oil

1/2 cup pineapple juice

1/4 teaspoon cracked pepper

2 cloves garlic minced

2 slices ginger

3 lbs sirloin steak boneless & trimmed 1 to 2 inches thick

(or boneless chicken or peeled shrimp)


Combine all ingredients except meat in glass or plastic bowl & let stand 30 minutes. Slice steak diagonally across the grain in strips 1/2" thick. Marinate meat 2-6 hours at room temperature or overnight in refrigerator.
Skewer ribbon fashion on metal or wooden skewers. (Soak wooden skewers in water several hours.) Cook to desired doneness over charcoal fire. No basting is necessary. Pineapple chunks and blanched green pepper may be interlaced with meat on skewers.


Serving Ideas: Serve with fried rice.
