IN THE JAR:
1 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup brown sugar packed
¾ cups coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts
1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup toffee pieces or butterscotch-flavored pieces
1/4 cup butter melted & cooled
2 eggs slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
In a 1-quart jar, layer the first 7 ingredients in the order listed. Tap jar gently on the counter to settle each layer before adding the next. Cover jar.
Store jar at room temperature up to several months.
Attach “Baking Directions” to jar before presenting as a gift.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease an 8x8x2” baking pan. In a large bowl combine butter, eggs & vanilla. Stir in jar contents. Spread into prepared pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until set and golden brown and edges just begin to pull away from pan.
Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares or bars.
