Margie Moore’s Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 well beaten egg
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 1 box of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pecans

Instructions
 

  • Bring these to a boil (at low heat):
    - 3 tablespoons cocoa
    - 1 stick butter or margarine
    - 1/2 cup oil
  • Add the following:
    - 2 cups sugar
    - 2 cups flour
    - 1 teaspoon soda
    - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Mix with electric mixer.
  • Then Add:
    - 1 teaspoon vanilla
    - 1 cup buttermilk
    - 1 well beaten eggs
  • Pour into greased and floured pan. (Batter will be thin)
  • Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until done at 350 degrees.
  • Frost while hot with the following icing:
  • Bring the following to a boil:
    - 3 tablespoons cocoa
    - 5 tablespoons milk
    - 1 stick margarine or butter
  • Add 1 box of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and pecans if desired.
