Slice bread in relatively thick slices (not too thin)
Arrange bread slices on a cookie sheet
Spread soft butter evenly on all bread pieces. If the butter is too cold to spread well, you may microwave till it softens or melts, and apply with a knife or pastry brush
Season each with lemon pepper and garlic powder (Note: Do not use garlic salt if possible, it makes the toast too salty!)
Last, season each slice generously with finely grated Parmesan cheese
Toast in the oven on broil for 5 to 10 minutes, until slices are nicely browned and toasted. Do not overcook so they burn! It's worth standing right by the oven and watching, because depending on the oven rack you choose to use they can toast up fast! Usually I choose a mid-level oven rack.
