Margie Moore’s Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 well beaten egg
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 1 stick margarine or butter
- 1 box of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- pecans
Instructions
- Bring these to a boil (at low heat):– 3 tablespoons cocoa– 1 stick butter or margarine– 1/2 cup oil
- Add the following:– 2 cups sugar– 2 cups flour– 1 teaspoon soda– 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Mix with electric mixer.
- Then Add:– 1 teaspoon vanilla– 1 cup buttermilk– 1 well beaten eggs
- Pour into greased and floured pan. (Batter will be thin)
- Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until done at 350 degrees.
- Frost while hot with the following icing:
- Bring the following to a boil:– 3 tablespoons cocoa– 5 tablespoons milk– 1 stick margarine or butter
- Add 1 box of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and pecans if desired.
